About David:
Councillor David Clayton is a retired school teacher who was elected to North Devon Council in May 2023. A graduate of Durham University, David was Head of History and Politics at a large Comprehensive School for 30 years. He is married to Jane and they have 3 grown up children.
David stood for election because he wants to play his part in making North Devon an even nicer, greener and safer place in which to live. He is passionate about keeping our green open spaces , such as Westacott park, accessible to all.
In his free time David likes to read (thrillers and biographies), listen to music (all kinds but particularly Steely Dan ) and tries to play the guitar.
