About Louisa:
Louisa was born and raised in Barnstaple. She is married to Keith, and they currently live in Lower Newport with their two sons.
She was re-elected as the Mayor of Barnstaple in May 2023. Her mayoral charities this year are The Veterans Charity, Barnstaple in Bloom and The North Devon Hospice.
She has also been re-elected to North Devon Council. She is a representative to One Barnstaple, The North Devon Atheneum and Go North Devon. She is also the Chair of the NDC Licensing & Community Safety Committee.
With a degree and past career in librarianship, she now owns and runs a childcare business. She was a governor at Newport Community School Primary Academy for six and a half years. As well as supporting Newport residents with casework, she also finds time to knit and create content on Instagram.
She said: "I thoroughly enjoy being a Local Councillor and do my best to support residents or signpost them to the correct places. We have a few ongoing issues in our ward which need a broader plan and together with my ward colleagues we are working to achieve those long-term aims.”
